How long does it take for ginseng to make you some money?

im thinking about growing it. any tips?|||There are a lot of sites out there for growing ginseng. It is not the easiest crop to grow as it is site sensitive, you cannot just plant it in your garden and expect it to grow. Without knowing what part of the country you are in, it is hard to give you specifics, but here are a couple of helpful sites: and if you google it, there will be a lot more.

http://www.wildgrown.com/|||Most herbal companies have gone overseas. There are a very few growers of "wild simulated gensing" here, it is sold to Asia, China, they have no wild grown left. People here get permits to collect wild grown and have to put the seeds back in the hole they dig the root from, it's protected to that extent. The few who grow it do not give instructions it's trade secrets. Several sites on the web. Google it.|||Back in the '80s my brother and I helped my father plant a ton of ginseng seed on our property. If I recall correctly he said 5 to 7 years for a good crop harvest. Honestly can't be certain what ever happened to it...
