Should dried ginseng be always kept in the fridge?

I found some dried ginseng at home and it was simply kept in its original packaging at room temperature. Probably been like that for over 10 years. Is it safe to consume?|||Store dried ginseng in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. . NOT in the fridge =)

I wouldn't use it as its over a year old.|||Probably not; if it's 10 years old, throw it out! Food can rot or get mold, even if it's in its original packaging.
