What will happen to children if they eat ginseng?

i heard that you have to be old to eat ginseng roots|||There are no reports to date about the use of Asian ginseng in children. Therefore, use of this herb in children is not recommended at this time.

But with respect to the ingredients, it is not really dangerous for them and its so bitter, that they should not eat a larger portion. If they drink any ginseng-tonic, it is not healthy by reason of the alcohol.

This site gives an example for pediatric use but also advises against it:

Ginseng and Kids - Traditional Approaches in oriental Medicine

One site, on a page dedicated to clearing up the misunderstandings associated with Korean ginseng, tells a very different story (http://www.kgc.or.kr/eng/04r%26amp;d/r%26amp;d_FAQ.h鈥?/a> ). They suggest that ginseng is in fact useful for children with regards weak constitution, and that it can also help in brain development and growth. They do caution against large doses, however, and specify the dosage for kids is 1/3 of the adult dosage.
