Why is ginseng kept in Martell?

My mum bought a bottle of Ginseng from a medical hall and it's stored in Martell.Does anyone know why?Isn't Martell liquor?Is it benificial?|||That is not the normal way to store ginseng. to store it it is kept in a dark dry place. I don't think she is putting it in there for storing it, perhaps it is for a type of remidy she is trying.
