|||It isn't hard to grow a little ginseng in a forest with the right conditions, but it takes many years to mature, and you have to worry that someone will steal it. Growing it in shaded garden beds is possible, but the people who know how to do it are rather secretive, so it could take a while to gain experience. It is very picky about its growing conditions, takes a long time to reach maturity, and security is still an issue, if you're growing it in quantity. The lath shade structures are a dead giveaway to thieves.
